“A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be”- Winnie the Pooh

I have a question for all of you. When you have a rough day do you have somebody you can call when you have an exciting moment? Do you have somebody you can share it with and what does that look like for you? I am a very independent person and I am also very big introvert so for me I can go on for days just doing my thing not feeling like I need to connect with people. I found a number years ago that once I started having kids life gets real. Raising kids is the HARDEST thing you will ever do. Can I get an AMEN!

The first year I became a mom I feel like at the time I felt alone. Looking back I seriously tried to raise that girl by myself that first year. I was not prepared for the sleepless nights that still continue to this day, the inconsolable moments, the going back to school full time, working full time, raising an infant full time moments. Question for you all, have you ever heard of the term, “it takes a village to raise kids”. I never used to give this concept any thought. Especially being an independent, smart woman I thought I can do this, I don’t need any help. Who needs advice? Not I (or so I thought). If you didn’t know this already I have been on an 8-9 year journey that has transformed my life. I was not a follower of God nor did I have a relationship with him before that time frame. Over the last several years through growing my faith and attending many workshops, speakers, books that I’ve read and sermons I have come to know how helpful a village is to raising little children.

Lets be honest. Kids … are…. sinners. We all are. Kids are really just trying to figure this all out. Children are in the process of learning how to be human beings. The more I got connected over the last 8 years the more I realized how helpful having a village really has been. The statistics say your children should each have 5 people in their lives that can positively influence them. This may be a teacher, mentor, coach, friend of the family, aunt, uncle etc. Somebody other than mom and dad that are showing the same values as mom and dad but are not them.

I think there has been this loss of trust in recent years. People are less apt to trust a neighbor or friend or teacher which leaves the parents to do everything. Lets be clear, YOU as mom or dad are the most influential thing in your children’s lives. You need to keep being the main caregiver, go to, support for your child. Your child needs to hear this information from more than just you though.  They need it to be information that is reinforced by others. If the values you want to instill in your children’s lives are only being taught to them by you it will not be as effective.

Over the years have continued to find resources whether it be books or little workshops or speakers to listen to or even just sermons at church articles you can read just little tidbits of information here or there because you can’t do this alone. God says in the Bible that this life is not meant for us to go through it alone . Listen it is hard to raise children they are manipulative they are mean they are genuine they are sinners right let’s just be real here for a second whether you have one or five it is the hardest job you’ll ever take on as a human being is being a parent. You can’t do this alone I always think of the concept of it can never hurt to have too much information.

Information is knowledge.  I started hearing information on parenting here and there just in sermons I’ve heard and then at my child’s school with different speakers and then I would read a book here and there and then I would see an article. It’s not something that you have to do every month but even a couple times a year if you get some information it is so incredibly helpful, you can’t do this on your own.  Lets put this into perspective to not only talk about raising children but just life in general God clearly states in the Bible that you can’t go through this life alone. You need people and not just your parents not just your siblings but you need people in your life. We’re all here and we’re all broken and we’re all trying to figure this out that’s really what it comes down to there are people out there for you and it doesn’t have to be a lot of people it can be a couple people.

So go find your people not only for you but to better equip you with information and support to get through this long journey we call life. “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them,” Matthew 18:20

Do not be afraid to be vulnerable and connect. For God wants you to connect with others and help others. You never know who your story could impact another person and whose story may impact you.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching, ” Hebrews 10: 24-25

Do you ever find yourself in a more uplifting mood when you’re around certain people? Or have you ever found yourself feeling down when you’re around certain people?  Have you ever heard of the concept inner circle versus outer circle?

Well, I don’t know about you but I find this in my own life. When I surround myself around people who are life giving, positive, faithful, uplifting, real, honest, I too, find myself having these characteristics.  Proverbs 13:20 says this, “whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” This doesn’t mean you should cut people out of your life that may not be like you or have opposite values etc. It simply means who are the 1-4 people in your inner circle who are your support system, the people you call frequently, see frequently, people you consider maybe good friends or family. These may be the people that share the same values, beliefs, and are going to fuel your fire.  Take a good look at how they are influencing you.

I have found over the years and through sermons and books that I’ve read that there is definitely this concept of your inner circle versus your outer circle. See, your inner circle are those few people that you can call if you need to that you’re around frequently you talk to frequently and that probably influence you the most.  I am an introvert to the core. I am good with just a few people in my life that I talk to frequently and share beliefs with.  As I’ve aged I’ve seen how this has played out in my life. I am realizing how important it is the people in my life and how they affect me. Its more than just having positive people around you. Its a deeper concept of people who breathe life into you and uplift you and support you.  What kind of language are people using that are around you frequently? What kinds of activities are these people partaking in? For me, its important to have people in my life that will walk a journey with me that help me fuel that fire that has been burning in my soul. These people are life giving, supportive, followers of Jesus and truly have a relationship with God. They will pray with me, grow in our relationship with God together, but most of all help me be better every single day.

Your outer circle are those that you are acquaintances with, and your around intermittently. You may talk to them but they don’t necessarily influence the way you act or talk or what you think. You may not share all the same values as them. Who are these people for you? For me its some of my family, my neighbors, friends, and colleagues.  The outer circle matters but keep in mind these people may not be ones you can control whether or not they are in your life.

The passion for this blog is to encourage others to find an inner circle. One that fits you.  Proverbs 18:24 says this, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”  Find your person or people. Find the people that help you be a better human being. “Do not be deceived: “bad company ruins good morals,” 1 Corinthians 15:33. We all have talents and gifts in this broken yet beautiful world we live in and I encourage you to decide who are you surrounding yourself around?

“Iron Sharpens iron, just as one man sharpens another,” proverbs 27:17

Lets talk purpose and passion friends.

Do you all ever wonder or think to yourself if what your doing is your life purpose? Some questions to ponder…Do you think its important to do something your passionate about?

I was recently having a conversation with a customer about purpose and passion. This customer stated that they wished they would have done something they were passionate about earlier on in life. This person is of retirement age and stated working in an office position for her whole career. Lets be clear there is nothing wrong with working in an office however she felt it wasn’t something she was passionate about. Now her friend and her of 40 years started a business and love what they’re doing.

Another question to ponder… Do you think its possible to go to work everyday and that not necessarily be your passion or purposeful gift? I heard a sermon once that talked about this concept. Having a purpose or God given gift does not have to be where you go to work daily it could be something you do on the weekends such as volunteering. Maybe you go on mission trips, help out with the local kids clubs or maybe you have artistic gifts and love making pottery.
Each of us are given gifts that are unique to us. This sounds cliche I know but truly think about this one. What is it that you have always felt that nudge that you were supposed to be doing? One thing that often stands in the way is fear.

Fear. Yes I said it fear. Fear is a funny little thing that is anxiety holding you back from experiencing life. Often times due to fear people stay in their comfort zone and never try anything new, follow their passion, be purposeful because its scary. But you know what? You will never grow, never learn, never experience life or new things in your comfort zone.

I have taken for granted the idea that I have always done what I am passionate about. Being a nurse specializing in palliative care seeing people and connecting with them in their most vulnerable states. Contrary to that I love selling Print Remedy and spreading positive messages and uplifting others. Lets be honest deciding to start Print Remedy was not easy.  With a full time job already and 2 small children and a spouse that runs his own business, there was nothing easy about starting Print Remedy. Friends I had a nudge for several years that I could be doing more, more with our gifts of screen printing and embroidery to give back. There have been many challenges and it has been scary but when you are doing things that you know in your heart are for the good of others everything works out. My hope for all of you is that you think about what that nudge is telling you. Its not too late to start whatever it is your feeling is your life purpose.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this and we would love seeing your comments about what your doing and what your passion is.

We Love Halos!

October is so beautiful here in MN. The leaves are changing color into reds, yellows, purples, oranges, and browns. It’S absolutely beautiful. October is also infant loss awareness month. In honor of all the people out there affected by the loss of a child Print Remedy is donating back to Halos of the St. Croix Valley.

If you haven’t heard of Halos of the St. Croix Valley they are a non-profit organization that provides support to families that have suffered the loss of a child.  It is run by parents that want to help other parents. Before we get into too much detail about how amazing this organization is lets back up a bit.

In January of 2016, a baby was born that was close to our heart to the parents of Joe and Laura. Prior to the birth it was known that this baby named Liam had a heart condition. With surgery there was hope he would be ok. After the birth of sweet Liam it was soon realized that he had several other complications that were unknown prior to delivery. Liam was loved by many and was surrounded by many loving family members in his short time on earth. After a short period of time Liam was placed on a ventilator to assist in breathing and was not doing well. On January 22nd, Liam passed away and is in Heaven in his forever home with Jesus waiting to meet his parents someday Joe and Laura. In the days after this unexpected passing, Halos of the St. Croix Valley, supported Joe and Laura to prepare for Liam’s funeral and the upcoming days. Halos of the St. Croix Valley assisted in the memorial cards and hand/foot molds of Liam. This was Joe and Laura’s firstborn child and was a very hard journey to experience.  With support it can ease that journey even more. This is a family that holds a close place in our hearts and many of you probably have families that you know who have suffered infant loss or a loss of a child.

Halos of the St. Croix Valley helps families with the following:

  • Memorial planning resources
  • Memorial photography
  • Honoring the child on their angelversary
  • Supporting the families financially and emotionally

Print Remedy would like to give back a portion of the sales to Halos of the St. Croix Valley this month to give back to all of those who have lost a child and need support. Any purchase you make on the website will go towards this Non-Profit and help support grieving parents in their time of need.

Thank you for reading our blog as always and hope you all get to enjoy the beautiful changes that Fall brings!

We are coming up to our 1 year anniversary! I can’t believe its been 1 year. Wow time flies by when your having fun. We have gone through so many positive changes over the last year.

We have taken many suggestions over the year and the clients have spoke! We have gone back to our roots and brought Print Remedy back to the basics. We wanted to focus on T-shirts again. Our roots initially started in 2015 when we knew we wanted to make shirts for others and spread positive messages. At that time we had a young family and we knew so badly we wanted this dream but couldn’t quite attain it. After many prayers and time 2017 was the year. We had an established screen printing and embroidery business which allowed us to create Print Remedy.

Everybody loves a great T-shirt right? We buy T-shirts for the purpose behind it not because we need another T-shirt. There are so many different T-shirts out there one can buy. We focus on eco-friendly, T-shirts that give back and provide jobs, AND are comfortable.  How many times have you bought a T-shirt and its scratchy, 100% cotton and shrinks?

We currently offer eco-friendly Tee’s that are making a huge impact around the world. Giving back to local non-profits, spreading messages of hope, kindness, love, giving jobs to people in Haiti at a reasonable wage, reducing the children going into orphanages, and organic ingredients such as water bottles that make up our shirts. What more can you ask??

We love our brand and the impact its making on the community. You will too! Check out all the new designs.

Hey everybody! It’s been a while since we’ve posted. There have been some great changes going on over here at the store!

We hope you all have had a great Winter season. We are glad Spring is coming! We have been busy making designs and getting back to the basics.  We can’t wait to share some of these new designs with you. You all have been sending in design suggestions and we are listening! We love the ideas and can’t wait to show you what the Spring/Summer collection will consist of. We are so passionate about giving back and being conscious about the products we use. Not only is Print Remedy comfortable and high quality it is eco-friendly and is made in humane environments.
Did you know to make one t-shirt it takes about 500-700 gallons of water?  A lot of the cotton in the US is either genetically engineered or grown with pesticides. We are trying to use more shirts that use organic cotton using less water and overall healthier.  We cannot wait to share these shirts with you!

We cannot believe Print Remedy is one year old! WOW this year has flown by. We are excited to see what this next year brings. Thank you for supporting what we believe in and spreading kindness, and giving back. Stay tuned over the next few months for our product reveals!

Giving Back to Youth First

We are so excited to be partnering with Youth First as our first official organization to

team up with! We will be donating at least 10% of the proceeds to this organization. At

Print Remedy we want to give back to organizations that have a current need. Who we

give back to will change multiple times throughout the year. We may also be giving back

to multiple organizations at a time. We have chosen to start locally. We have also chosen
to start with helping children.

Youth First does a phenomenal job working with youth in Anoka County, MN. They strive on 5 promises:

1. Caring adults: receiving support and guidance from caring adults in the children’s families and communities.
2. Safe Places: Recognizing the importance of the need to be safe physically and emotionally.Providing safe structured, and supervised activities.
3. A Healthy Start: Recognizing the need for children to have healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy habits.
4. Effective Education: Assisting children with their academics and understanding the importance and benefit from graduating from high school.
5. Opportunities to Help Others: Helping the children help others. Understanding the benefit of volunteering and helping others.

We are so excited to be working with them! They are changing the lives of so many children through a collaborative effort between the Anoka-

Hennepin school district, Anoka county, and the cities of Anoka, Andover, and Ramsey.

Not only does your purchase give back to this organization but every time you wear your new shirt, or use your new mug you are spreading kindness

all around.  We hope to inspire so many and remember it starts with you, one small act of kindness goes a long ways!

Thank you for purchasing from us to spread kindness, and give back.

With love,

˜ PR team ˜

I love this quote, “No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.” ~ Amelia Earhart
